    Habib's Rojak

Being the last few food centres that were built in heartlands Singapore, Ayer Rajah Food Centre has one of the best kept secrets around town. And one of them has to be the Indian Rojak!

Of course, Indian Rojak is one of the iconic food that labels Singapore as a multi-cultural society. And what better way to start the iconic food trails of Singapore then to steer yourself to "Habib's Rojak". There's so many stalls around Singapore selling Indian Rojak, but there's one that sets "Habib's Rojak" from the rest is the special gravy! The gravy have to be spot on to get the other fried fritters going!

Spicy peanut sauce as we call it, many have their different variations to it. But here, the sauce is creamy, the peanut is not to chunky and well the spicy....is not too spicy! for all you foodies out there who can't take spicy food, this Indian Rojak is for you! Not too spicy, not too sweet, the sauce is just the correct consistency to coat the fritters on your fork!

So, let's get to their fritters. They have a wide variety to choose from. From fried dough fritters, to bean curd, prawn, hard boiled egg, cuttle fish and many more! A friend of mine loves the "Paru" or in English, the lungs of the cow. Now, for those followers who are not from around the region, cow lungs here are a norm and they're not like an afrodisiac or something. Other stalls we see it, being fried to god knows what that sometimes, it becomes so tough, that you can carely eat it! But here, I have no idea what they do to it, but it's extremely smooth and easy to chew! Everything here is just superb! Give it a go!

Now, I did mention that everything here in thirteentastes are all under $13. However, I went with a group of friends and we went overboard with the fritters like a kid in a candy shop! But with just $7-$10 worth of fritters, you can definitely get yourself and your other half a hefty meal!
